- Entry One -

OMG hi guys sorry for the late post I've just been BOMBARDED with coursework, all of you should know this feeling I guess ... lol.

In my last blog entry I introduced you to my current course project and I made a action plan for myself lets see how far I've come since then.

During then I've created a concept/mood board to help me brainstorm and experiment ideas baring in mind this concept board are in relation to the mission statement

  - I apologise is you can't see everything clearly :)
this is my concept board, this collection of images focuses on the human face in relation to the word  People  from the mission statement and i produced 2 observational drawings of the image of a "old mans eye looking in the distance" Due to my love for the human eye I chose this image instantly but after making that hasty decision i realised that ive never drawn in a fine art way most of my previous art works have been souly anime based so I let my self in for a challenge.

To be honest i found creating shade and tone quite difficult regarding my greyscale/monochrome drawing at first i didn't really understand how to use a variety of value intensities to create shadows and mid-tones with only using a hb pencil so i went to some of my friends in AS/A2 to ask for some help and guidence due to their experience so a majority told me that "that harder you press on the paper determines how intense the mark will appear on the page".

I am quite proud of my colour drawing, i really am happy with my mark making techniques and i used the lightest colours as a base (undercoating) then worked over and over with darker colours to create shadows and highlights i chose to apply colour this way due to me looking at other art students paintings i thought it was so clever how an under painting is like a guide for an artist to then apply darker or lighter colours to create shadows and highlights so i incorparated that sae technique within my art work using whs high quality colouring pencils.

Introduction to the project

Hello reader,
In my Btec art class I have previously been :
-  Researching symbolism ( the meaning behind imagery and the conceptual interpretation that others see when looking at certain pictures)
-  Color representation (the meaning behind colors in our society and in other cultures e.g. the color black represents mystery and death)
Analysing advertising company poster and clips such as the wonderbra poster and the skoda cake car clip we broke down key aspects of the visual advert.
Research on  Advertising agencies
- what do ad agencies do ?
- what clients come to ad agencies?
- what are the job roles within a ad agency e.g. copy writer , art director
From my previous research and work I now have been set a brief by a company called Publicis, they have sent the brief one behalf off the client Depauluk.
The Depaul Charity...
Helps homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
They find young people a place to call home.
They prevents young people from becoming homeless by rebuilding family relations and offers support to young offenders.
They aid and offer disadvantaged use with the opportunities to progress beyond homelessness and fulfill  potential
The client has ask me to create a piece of art work which can convay this statement "To offer homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to fulfil their potential and move towards an independent and positive future "

In the future I would like to have the chosen two artists in which I will look at that work for inspiration and create my poster using the chosen artist techniques and skills also i will be creating a concept board which symbolises/represents certain words in the mission statement.
